Update - April 20-22, 2012

Kelly Jackman was honored with the prestigious Robert "Moose" Moss award at the 2012 YMCA National Diving Championships in Fort Lauderdale. The award is given to the coach, athlete, or administrator who embodies the values of the YMCA, and best encourages the development and growth of the sport of diving.

Kelly has played an integral part in the revitalization of the YMCA Diving Championships. Kelly started volunteering his services in 2009 not only to promote the championships on Divemeets.com but using his expertise in running the meet and offering ideas for additional growth of the championships. Since 2008, the championship has more than tripled in participation! Last year (2011) Kelly even provided the first HD live video feed for viewing finals.

The award is named for the legendary diving coach "Moose" Moss, whose small diving facility in Moultrie, Georgia, built in the 1960s on his own farm, has grown to become one of the best outdoor facilities in the country, where several Olympians have trained, and has been the site of many national and international diving meets.

Kelly was presented the award at his home in Miami by meet Director Gary Cox.

News Regarding Kelly Jackman - November 9, 2011
Earlier this week Kelly Jackman suffered a stroke at his Home in Miami, Florida. He was rushed to Mercy Hospital and is currently in the Critical Care Unit under doctor supervision. Kelly is a very tough guy, and has beat other medical problems in the past so we are very hopeful that he will make a full and speedy recovery. However, in the interim, while he is away, we (the staff at DiveMeets.com) will try to fill his enormous shoes. For the time being, Sheilagh Boudia (sboudia@meetcontrol.com) and Paul Holzmann (pholzmann@meetcontrol.com) will be stepping in to take care of Kelly's duties. Please direct any correspondence you may have to them.

We will be updating this post periodically with new information on Kelly as it becomes available.

Please respect the wishes of Kelly's family for privacy.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Kelly and his family as they go through this difficult time.
